Airborne systems developers need to ensure the required level of quality according to design goals. One those goals for the system engineer is to develop a reliable system. In early stages of design there isn’t enough operation data available to estimate system reliability. In this scenario, the reliability engineer will resort to libraries & standards collecting failure rate values for each component according to known operational parameters. Reliability Prediction Analysis (RPA) is the bottom-up methodology that allows for the calculation of equipment/system reliability collecting failure rate data component by component.

Quim Martínez has a BSc Degree in Aerospace Technology and holds an MSc in Aerospace Engineering (Major in Propulsion).
He is currently working at DMD Solutions focused on Reliability (RPA, FRACAS) and Safety analysis (FTA, FHA, FMEA) and providing technical support in the area of Business Acquisition.
He has mastered the Reliability Prediction Analysis methodology working on a diversity of systems, including mechanical harnesses for emergency & cargo aircraft interior modification, as well as avionics systems.
